Incorporating traditional folk, found sounds and English psychedelia into their music, Sproatly Smith are denizens of of the folklore-soaked borderlands of Herefordshire. Other than that, and our belief that their music is wonderful, we can tell you very little. Their latest album, The Minstrel's Grave is released  by Folk Police Recordings on 1st April 2012 in CD and digital editions. Originally available  from the wonderful Reverb Worship in a limited run of 100 CDRs, the Folk Police edition is remastered by Peter Philipson (The Woodbine & Ivy Band, Starless & Bible Black).

"The Minstrel's Grave is an album to cherish, enjoy, and play over and over again. I really like this band. Their sound world of bucolic, psychedelic folk, referencing late 'sixties Floyd, Circulus and Gorkys, is a joy to listen to. Original, engaging, marvellous." Terrascope

The Minstrel's Grave is Sproatly Smith's third full length release. The previous albums, The Yew and the Hare and Pixieled, as well as a seasonal mini-album, Carols From Herefordshire, are available in digital editions from the Sproatly Smith Bandcamp page.
